Y'all...

I once read a story on Beth Moore's blog about a woman from Texas who was curling her eyelashes in the bathroom mirror.  She either applied too much pressure or left the apparatus on too long, but when she removed it, her beautiful eyelashes detached and fluttered down to the sink.  Either speaking directly to the eyelashes or thinking about relaying the story to her dear girlfriends at work, all she could say was a long, drawn-out "Y'all."

That's how I feel right now.

Y'all.

I'm conflicted.

I liked my blog better with less junk in the sidebar.

See the ads over there (that I barely know how to install)?

They are making my stomach hurt.

Should I make money from doing what I'm so passionate about?  (A whole whopping $4-5 per 1,000 pageviews...at this rate, I'll make 20 bucks this month!  Woot!

And make you guys "suffer" the clutter?

Where does one actually "start"?

This is my friend Evan.
His facial expression captures exactly how I feel.

Conflicted at the kitchen table,
Ginny

PS - I'm actually going to cook something tomorrow.  Shocker, I know.

I say keep the ads. I was conflicted with this as well, but the way I see it is, even if it's just a tiny amount, it helps offset the costs of time, supplies (groceries) etc. a little.

Dear Gin, I have read a few posts (behind on all my blog reading) and just want to say that do whatever feels right. There is no right or wrong on this blogging game! If you make a few bucks and it doesn't take any time, then great. If it is too much of a bother, then move on. I admire that you work from your home with young kiddos!! So tough to do...but hopefully you are keeping your foot in the door for future job ops..believe me that the time goes so fast. I am at that awkward crossroads of having children who now need me less (but still need me to drive them everywhere) but difficult to find the right job that is worth the time & effort.

Your food blog is the absolute BEST, regardless of the number of followers. Everything that I make from your blog gets huge rave reviews!

Please continue to enjoy your young family...that is something that you will never regret and also never have the opportunity to relive.

big hugs from your biggest fan, cathy
