Let the Squash-Swapping Begin...

Our generous neighbors just came over to share the bounty of their garden.

Squash recipes forthcoming!!

Does anyone have a fun squash recipe to share?  Something that your grandma made?

(Thanks, Neighbors to the south, for the produce.  We'll always happily receive such a gift.)

The only recipe I have is to slice the squash with skin intact, salt and pepper the slices and saute in oil oil until lightly browned. You have a sweet neighbor to remember you.

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

I fry it the same way I do my green tomatoes....I batter them in italian bread crumbs, seasoning salt and flour and then I fry them in olive oil and butter....I choose to sprinkle with a bit of parmesan cheese...mmmmmm....complete with a glass of coke : )

Susan & Anjie, Thanks for your suggestions!
Susan, that's my favorite way to prepare squash!
And Anjie, I was actually going to do a post on breaded squash! Yum.
I can't wait to have some decent-sized green tomatoes on my plants...you KNOW we need to have a Fried Green Tomato party. :)
